How big does the DLS kit need to be for the Crystal Palace?
The image should be 512×512 pixels, PNG format, and be less than 1MB.
A kit is the same size as a badge, but acts very differently. A logo is cut out of a circle. A kit is a flat template that the game is mapped to the player model, each area of the kit is the front, back and each sleeve. If those areas don’t match up with the layout that Dream League Soccer expects, then the design is placed in the wrong location.
That’s why it’s possible for a thumbnail to look good, but import poorly. You’re not viewing a shirt, you’re viewing the unrolled version of a shirt.
Transparency is typically not a desirable quality of a kit. The template should be coloured in.
What size does the Crystal Palace DLS kit need to be?
The one thing to remember before downloading anything:
Normally Crystal Palace would be a red and blue striped side. In 2026/27, Macron and the club swapped those stripes to the third kit and the white sash design became the main home shirt.
It’s an anniversary, that’s why. The design of the diagonal sash was first seen on a Palace home shirt in 1976 and this season is the 50th anniversary of that. The club did not create a one-off commemorative shirt, instead it was made a first choice shirt for the entire campaign.
It is a rare move. The most recent parallel is the one that was run by Paris Saint-Germain in the 2010-11 season, where they played a similar role reversal between their primary and alternative designs.
For Dream League Soccer, it’s a very real thing. Many of the kit files on the internet are not by design and there are a lot of sites that haven’t been updated since last season. Red and blue vertical stripes on a file named “Crystal Palace home” mean that it’s either an old shirt or this season’s third kit that was put in the wrong file.
Crystal Palace 2026/27 home kit
The Macron home kit, which was released in July 2026, is white with a large diagonal sash in red and blue, but is not solid red and blue stripes, but rather thin pinstripes.
The shoulders, sleeves and V-neck collar are accented with red and blue striped accents. Temporal, the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor, is in the middle of the crest, while the club crest is on the left chest, opposite a blue Macron logo. Under the rear collar is a blue eagle graphic and inside the neck is a custom label featuring the crest, the words “South London and Proud” and a “Designed in Bologna” sign-off.
White shorts with red and blue side stripes, white socks with red and blue stripes round the ankles round out the outfit.
With a DLS file, it’s the sash that’s important. If the file is not the same as the current template, then the diagonal running corner to corner across the front panel will appear wrong. If it is misaligned, it will be evident that the sash has broken at the seam or altered angle at the point of contact between the panels, as compared to a misaligned stripe.
Crystal Palace 2026/27 away kit
The away shirt, known as Eagle Black, was released on 27 July 2026, and features an all-eagle design.
The base is black and red and blue trims are added to the crew-neck collar and cuffs on the sleeves, and red and blue inserts are added to the shoulders and sides. There is a graphic of an eagle tone-on-tone throughout the body and a larger eagle graphic on the front of the shirt.
Technical challenge is the plumage pattern. Tone-on-tone refers to the graphic being displayed in tones of the same colour instead of a contrasting colour and that’s the sort of information that is lost in a low-resolution file. This shirt is a plain black shirt with a smudge on the location of the eagle that is a 256 pixel source relabelled as 512×512.
Crystal Palace 2026/27 third kit
The third kit was released on 21 August 2026, but the traditional stripes were not found in this kit.
Macron took Palace’s red and blue vertical stripes and changed them to diagonal lightning bolt stripes, with subtle patterns of eagle wings in the sublimation process. The shoulders, sides and lower sleeves are framed with dark navy inserts. The crew-neck collar and cuffs feature a thin red stripe in a wider navy stripe.
The full-colour club crest is located on the left-hand side, while the white Macron Hero logo is in the centre with Temporal in the middle. The outer back neck features a red eagle holding a football, which is directly from the crest. A custom label, with the geometric pattern of the shirt, and the words “SOUTH LONDON AND PROUD” and “Designed in Bologna” are visible inside the collar.
This is worn with blue shorts with navy side sections, and blue socks with darker upper section, horizontal red stripe and CPFC lettering on the back.
This one is challenging to file, for two reasons. The lightning-bolt shapes are angular, and cross panel boundaries; template alignment is important. As for the fine tonal work that is sublimated on the eagle-wing, that is 512 pixels worth of work and needs to be displayed in its entirety.
Goalkeeper kit
The goalkeeper is a separate slot in Dream League Soccer and it’s the one that most people tend to overlook.
All three custom outfield kits look unfinished, particularly in the team menu, where all four are lined up next to each other, with the default keeper strip. Don’t put it off until later, put it at the same time as the others.
How to import a kit in Dream League Soccer
Almost the same logo process, but different menu.
Copy the link to the kit you wish to copy. Do not copy from the address bar of your browser; it is possible that the browser will give you the address of the page instead of the image file.
Click on Open Dream League Soccer and then Customise. Select Kit instead of Logo and then select the kit that you are replacing. They are each set individually.
Tap and hold on the URL field, then tap Paste and then tap Confirm. The design should be visible on your players and you should see “Image successfully downloaded”.
Older builds will have the last step as Download instead of Custom Kit. It’s the same field.
If you repeat this four times you have set a full set.
Common problems with Crystal Palace kit URLs
The kit you have is not the correct kit for the slot you are in
This is a particular one for Palace this season and one to look at first. Stripes are not for the home slot, but rather the third slot for 2026/27.
The link is to a web page and not to an image file
A working URL is one that has a .png or .jpg extension. Tap and hold on the image, and select Copy image address, not Copy link address.
The template is wrong
If the sash is broken in the seam or the lightning bolts are angled differently across the shirt, it was constructed on a different template than the current Dream League Soccer template. The picture is good, the mapping is not.
File is too small
The away and third shirts are both based on tonal eagle patterns, which go away completely below 512×512.
The link is dead
Free image hosts delete files and switch on hotlink protection. This is particularly true of Kit URLs that are shared during the first week after a launch.
Matching the badge to the kit
If you want to use a default badge, you can use a custom kit which will have a default badge, but this will diminish the effect, so set the logo at the same time, using the same menu path, but selecting Logo instead of Kit.
The eagle holding a football is a feature of the Palace crest, and is also included on the back neck of the home and third shirts this season. It’s a bold, high contrast shape and will stand out at the small sizes Dream League Soccer renders badges at.
